I’m a sucker for cloisonné. This necklace was inspired by the center hand-painted, ceramic turquoise bead in the cloisonné style. All the accompanying chips of turquoise, silver tone decoration and earth stones just fell into place. It makes me happy just to look at.

Aqua and Turquoise
Pale green aventurine beads act like bookends for baby blue and silvery fish swimming toward the middle of three square, textured beads. Lots of underwater traffic flanked by icey blue and irregular green glass beads, with tiny decorative silver pieces to keep things interesting.
Blue Hawaii and Pearl Coins. 22”
Blue Hawaii glass puff beads with mother-of-pearl coins are so brilliantly blue, they almost require a snorkel to see them. The ocean surrounding the Hawaiian Islands has these same blues, shimmering in the clear-as-glass water

Inspired by an old college friend’s comment about the magic of lop-sided designs, I chose big, fat glass beads in the aquamarine family, highlighted by tiny silvery, decorative beads to give the big ones some punch and pizzazz.

This explosion of turquoise and green colored beads with silvery pieces is very popular. When I look at a work in progress, I ask my gut what emotion it evokes. This one congers up cheerfulness.
